Strength finds its ways across the fences of trauma and violence. The story of Yasmin Sheikh is an explicit example of true courage to stand beside her values and reliance. Yasmin Sheikh as she states was forced to marry Mohammad Sadik, a man much elder to her as her father out of economic conditions wanted to, “Get rid of her”. Soon after her marriage, Yasmin realised that her husband was an alcoholic and had notorious background of gambling and repeated offence. Yasmin’s efforts and her prayers to help her husband out of his habits turned no stones. Yasmin was almost a captive victim, enduring pain and suffering in her violent relationship with no physical or emotional respite. One afternoon in June 2011, Yasmin was out with her 3 children to her sister’s place. She returned home to find nothing amiss or different in her house. A few week’s later on father’s day, Yasmin’s children had crafted out a hand made card for their father. But the emotions took a wild turn when few cops arrived that morning only to declare that Sadik was a suspect in the rape case of a 6 Year old girl. Sadik was arrested but Yasmin’s destiny had more bumps to suffer. Soon after Sadik’s arrest, Yasmin started being forced by her In-Laws and close ones to stand up as an alibi for his whereabouts on the dreadful moment of the mishap. Yasmin refused to participate in the heinous crime her husband had committed and refused to budge from the truth. She refers to her mother as the motivation who always taught Yasmin to be truthful. Yasmin’s moral grounds had no place in the entire family drama and soon she was thrashed, pelted and abused for not holding up with her convicted husband. Nothing deterred Yasmin’s stance and she moved out to live separately. Yasmin took up double shift job and got enrolled to pursue her B. Sc degree. She worked as a cook in a school preparing meals for 250 children. Yasmin Sheikh now lives in Indore and was one of the favorite contestants in MasterChef India 2013. Yasmin has marched ahead to a better and brighter future for herself and her children, the day she decided to stop being a victim. Image Source Yasmin was nominated for Femina Editor’s Choice Award 2014. Although you stood up to fight your own battle Yasmin but in reality have inspired and instilled faith in millions of those women who every day justify their Victim state of existence in painful relationships!   Also Read: Breaking Traditions is sometimes Awesome! How often do you come across people who give away everything they have to help others, here’s one guy who has done it… He was a Top Chef at Taj Hotel, Bengaluru and was shortlisted for an elite job in Switzerland but he quit it all when he came across this a distressing sight … He said, “I saw a very old man, literally eating his own human waste out of hunger. I went to the nearby hotel and asked them what was available. They had idli, which I bought and gave to the old man. Believe me, I had never seen a person eating so fast, ever. As he ate the food, his eyes were filled with tears. Those were the tears of happiness.” He left his job and since then he has been feeding the homeless and mentally disabled in his hometown. His motto today is: Ultimate purpose of life is to give. So start giving and see the Joy of giving.   Post By: RS Satff

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry.
